MEET OUR VOLUNTEERS

Amelia
Volunteer
Hi, I’m Amelia, a Year 9 student at Sacred Heart Girls College. I was lucky enough to take part in the Horses Helping Humans programme three years ago, and it was such a special experience for me. I love anything to do with horses, and in my free time I enjoy horse riding. I also love spending time with my dog, Nina.

Kia ora,
I'm Katrin. I've lived in Ōkato nearly half my life. The first half I spent growing up in Germany. I'm very grateful to have Te Papakura O Taranaki, the Hangatahua and te moana on my doorstep. Being able to enjoy it on a daily basis is a privilege. I volunteer at HHH because I like the people, being around the ponies and helping an organization that does such amazing mahi. Mostly I just clean the horse tracks, it's a nice chill exercise outside at the end of a busy day. I haven't yet got a favorite pony (they are all so cute!) but going to the beach with Macey was a highlight.
Noho Ora Mai,
Kat

Siena
Volunteer
My name is Siena and I am originally from Denver Colorado, but the beach is where I am most happy! I have always loved the outdoors and sports like touch rugby, tennis, volleyball and more. I have a cream-colored golden retriever named Camper- he loves jumping over rails like a horse! Horses are a huge part of my story- I have been working with them since I was 4, and as I learn more about how their gentle and intelligent personalities can help others- it has inspired me to study psychology in the future and incorporate horses into my practice. HHH is a fantastic foundation, and it's a pleasure to be working with all the beautiful horses and people!

Océ
Volunteer
Hi I’m Océane, Ocè for short. I’m a Year 10 student at Green School NZ. After a car crash on the Auckland motorway I struggled to even be in the car without strong anxiety - I came to HHH, and not only made a deeper connection with myself to change that but made connections with the people and horses. I then wanted to give back so I started volunteering at HHH and I absolutely love it. I enjoy literacy, journaling, community, horses, and reading.
